Abstract:

Since time immemorial human race has been looking out for ways to make their life easier and simpler. The ever increasing data associated with individuals has led to many a new technique. However, with the advent of computers and the storage disk cost getting cheaper by the day, many companies are going paperless. It has become inevitable to store data in a format that is both simpler and easier to retrieve.

The goal of the project is to develop a module for the existing Employee Management Software that allows for the creation and assigning of various benefits to employees, such as Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance and others. Currently the employee has no way to enroll, decline, or change benefits and must fill out a paper form which is manually entered into the system. This process is slow and leads to errors.

The module we are to develop utilizes the latest XML technology and HR-XMl.org development standards. This will allow for a generic interface that will support all benefit enrollment forms regardless of the specific company. The main goal of the project is to develop an online module for the existing system that would enable the employees to be able to login via a Web browser and view their selected benefits which include the type of coverage and premium amounts.
