GOOD STUDY HABITS

It is never too late to develop good study habits. If you want your children to improve their grades and school performance, take some time to read through this list of good habits and then encourage them to make some changes in their routine.

1.  Write down every assignment: It is absolutely essential to your success to write down every single assignment, due date and dates of CATs.

2.  Remember to bring your homework to school: To avoid forgetting your homework, you must establish a strong homework routine with a special homework station where you work each evening. Then you must get in the habit of putting your homework in your school bag right after you finish it.

3.  Communicate with your teacher: Every successful relationship is based upon clear communication; a student-teacher relationship is no different. Miscommunication can cause bad grades despite good efforts on your part. Be sure to ask questions until you understand what is expected of you.

4.  Establish a study zone at home: If you cannot concentrate, you can’t expect to learn very well. Find a place to study that fits your personality and reading style. Then stock your study place with whatever you will need for uninterrupted study.

5.  Prepare yourself for CATS: You know that it’s important to study for CATs, right? Nonetheless, you should not wait until a day before the CATs to start preparing. Give yourself an early start so that you have ample time to revise what you have already read.

6.  Manage your time-wasters: Common time-wasters include wasting time online, TV watching, oversleeping, over playing, idling or chatting with friends and reading too many novels. You must strive to limit time-wasting.

7.  Do not procrastinate: Do not put off what you can do today until tomorrow. Now be proactive and take control of your life as a student. Wishing you all the best. Wa billahi tawfiq
