Infection Name Cause Description

Chlamydia / Bacteria / 1)  Lower abdominal pain
2)  Painful urination
3)  Discharge from man and woman
4)  Untreated: Spread and sterile
Gonorrhea / Bacteria / 1)  Discharge for the man and woman
2)  Men: painful urination, discharge, and pain/ swelling of testicles
3)  Women: Increased discharge, painful urination, bleeding between periods, abdominal pain, pelvic pain
4)  Treatment: Antibiotics
5)  Untreated: Spread and Sterile
Syphilis / Bacteria / 1)  Stage 1: Hard painless sores which appear several weeks after infection
2)  Sores from stage 1 can heal on own in 3-6 weeks but will continue having syphilis and the person will spread it.
3)  Stage 2: Rash/small round patches which may or may not itch on genitals. Could also experience fever, headache, weight loss which will disappear in a few weeks with no treatment.
4)  Final Stage: Blindness, paralysis, liver damage and mental problems.
Genital Warts / Human Papilloma
Virus / 1)  Soft red/pink or hard grey warts
2)  Symptoms will appear 8 MONTHS after infection
3)  Treatment: Laser surgery, will need to be repeated
4)  Untreated: Cervical Cancer
Genital Herpes / Virus / 1)  Spread through genital to genital contact and skin to skin contact
2)  Small painful blisters that appear 1 WEEK after infection
3)  Fluid from blisters will need to be examined
4)  Relief from symptoms but there is no cure
5)  Untreated: Will continue to spread and have outbreaks
Pubic Lice / Insect / 1)  Spread through genital to genital contact, bed sheets and infected towels. Can live outside of the body for 1 day but eggs will develop
2)  Treatment: Prescription shampoo
