JOB PURPOSE

To grow the Cambridge English business in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Korea, identifying key market opportunities and meeting the candidature and revenue targets for those markets.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

·  To meet agreed business plan revenue and entry targets for the region, maximising return on investment from priority markets, and delegating targets as appropriate.

·  Produce, implement and evaluate, full Regional Strategic Plan and one-year Implementation Plans identifying key regional priorities and sector strategies, monitoring and evaluating of market performance, taking remedial action as appropriate

·  To identify, evaluate and lead on new business opportunities across the region beyond our existing stakeholders, in particular through liaison with ministries, HE institutions and key schools, producing formal proposals to Cambridge English senior management where required. These should include needs for new products or services which will allow Cambridge to respond better to current and future customer requirements

·  To review, support and develop the existing centre delivery network in order to provide maximum market access. In addition to coordinate the network’s marketing activity and make recommendations to the Regional Director as to the most effective in-country mechanisms for developing Cambridge English business

·  To produce and regularly update the required market analysis of the in-country Cambridge English assessment market as a sound basis on which strategy can be formulated

·  Line management of full-time and contracts posts and administrative and financial management (including budgets) for East Asia region

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

·  A postgraduate qualification in business and/or marketing

Skills

·  Excellent communication skills both in English and one major regional language

·  The ability to engage at a high level in the different commercial and educational cultures of the region

·  The ability to prioritise and develop strategic opportunities is of paramount importance

·  Excellent presentation skills and sales ability are also essential, as are good copywriting skills. The ability to multi-task and prioritise a heavy workload are required, along with good organisational skills.

·  IT skills are also required, especially in using database and spreadsheet applications.

Experience

·  Significant (minimum 5 years) work experience in a marketing or educational sales context.

·  Line management experience (and skills) are also essential
