Specific steps of Lesson Plan (3-5 sentences. Include lesson format, activities, and details to replicate):

1.  Do Now: Students will be asked to make a list of appropriate behaviors and inappropriate behaviors.

2.  Whole Group Discussion: Students will be asked to share some of their examples and discuss why some behaviors are appropriate and others are not.
3.  Video: Students will watch the District Code of Conduct Video.
4.  Teacher will review his/her classroom rules.
5.  Students will be placed in small groups and asked to make a poster depicting one of the classroom rules.
6.  Group Presentations: Groups will present their posters.

2.  Oral Review: Teacher will review hallway expectations with the whole group.
3.  ROLE-PLAY POSITIVE EXAMPLES
Teachers: Demonstrate how to walk quietly in the hallway while keeping hands to
yourself. Demonstrate walking with a purpose to get to class on time. Also show
how to politely let others pass you
4.  ROLE-PLAY NEGATIVE EXAMPLE (Staff Only) Teacher: Have a few staff members demonstrate inappropriate behavior- running, pushing, and yelling.
5.  Debrief the role-play. What worked? What didn’t work? What would have been an
appropriate way to behave?

The rules for the athletic field will be addresses at the discipline assemblies during the first week of school. The lesson will be presenting with a power point and a short video that depicts appropriate and inappropriate behaviors.

The topic will be revisited on a quarterly basis via a series of PSA’s shown during the morning announcements.
