Post is part time: 17.5 hours per week

Role Description

Summary

#TeamHerts Volunteering is an innovative county-wide service that aims to raise the profile of volunteering and increase volunteer engagement across Hertfordshire. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a multi-faceted marketing and campaigns strategy to enable to successful delivery of this exciting new service.

Specific responsibilities

·  Develop and deliver marketing and campaign strategies to engage the general public, charities, service providers and health professionals with the #TeamHerts brand.

·  Manage the consistent and appropriate dissemination of information and key messages through a range of marketing communication activities.

·  Co-ordinate a proactive approach to media relations in order to maximise coverage at both county and district level across Hertfordshire.

·  Lead on the evaluation and constant monitoring of our marketing effectiveness in order to ensure that #TeamHerts Volunteering is quickly established as the ‘go to’ volunteering resource for Hertfordshire.

·  Develop and manage the #TeamHerts Volunteering website ensuring that content is accessible, engaging and regularly updated.

·  Manage the communications calendar and write content for all social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Youtube etc).

·  Work with partner organisations, colleagues and individual volunteers to develop a database of case studies in order to tell the ‘story’ of volunteering and demonstrate its impact – this should include a variety of formats such as written, audio, film, photographs).

·  Produce high quality written material for a range of audiences.

·  Support the development of the regular e-newsletter to engage volunteers and potential volunteers.

·  Produce posters, fliers and other promotional literature as required.

·  Ensure that the service has an effective presence at external events as appropriate.

·  Keep up-to-date with marketing and campaign trends and effective communication tools.

·  Ensure the accurate recording of monitoring figures and other data.

·  Administer effective quality assurance systems and ensure that feedback is solicited, recorded and reported.

General responsibilities (common to everyone)

·  Promote the host organisation and its activities, and act in accordance with its principles.

·  Attend meetings and events and represent the host organisation as required.

·  Contribute to fundraising and to project management.

·  Work within agreed procedures, regulations and systems, including for accounting, expenses, communications, data collection, monitoring, and quality assurance.

·  Establish and maintain professional and supportive relationships with colleagues and with local groups.

·  Undertake such other work as may reasonably be required from time to time.

Knowledge, skills and attributes

The post-holder must demonstrate and maintain the following knowledge, skills and attributes.

Knowledge

·  Educated to degree level or with a comparable marketing qualification such as CIM

·  Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

·  Extensive experience of developing and delivering successful marketing and campaign strategies.

·  Experience of managing integrated campaigns, especially those that utilise social media and digital marketing

·  Experience of writing effective content for use across the full range of media channels.

·  Excellent understanding of how to manage and measure marketing effectiveness.

·  Experience of developing media relations, ideally with some established links in Hertfordshire.

·  A good knowledge of local needs, priorities and service providers.

Skills

·  Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to tailor the style to the audience.

·  Excellent skills in networking and negotiation: the ability to establish relationships, influence decisions and persuade or recruit people to your point of view.

·  Ability to problem solve and re-prioritise plans and activities to take advantage of opportunities that fit within the campaigns strategy

·  Excellent leadership skills and the ability to provide effective management for volunteers.

·  The ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities effectively.

·  A high level of competency in ICT.

·  Competent and confident at operating on or within a range of social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Youtube etc).
