Open Rides
Objective:
To give current Greenacres Equine Center students riding Level 3 or above the opportunity to have more mounted time during the Spring, Fall and Winter session weeks.
Riders will be allowed to “flat only” (no jumping)
Mondays – Fridays
1 hour ride time – maximum
Hours for Open Riding: 3:45pm – 5:30pm
Cost: $30 per ride (must be paid on day of ride)
Riders will pick their horse from the list of horses available each day for Open Rides on the riding board. Open Rides will occur Monday-Friday between the hours of 3:45pm and 5:30pm. All riders must be dismounted and untacking by 6:30pm.
Rules/Policies/Procedures:
· Horses Used = not being used during the lesson times that day
o List will be posted on white board under “Available Horses for Open Riding”
o Horses available on 1st come-1st serve basis
§ Riders will NOT be allowed to call ahead to request horses
· Riders
o $30 per ride
o Pick horse on arrival from available list – may be assigned horse on arrival
o Can ride in following areas (all areas are supervised by instructors)
§ Dressage arena
§ Sand arena
§ Jump field, XC, Racetrack, top ½ of property group trail ride – Level 4 riders only
o Rules:
§ No jumping or galloping
§ Must follow all Greenacres Equine Center stable/riding rules
§ 1 hour maximum mounted time
§ All riders must be dismounted by 6:30pm
§ Open Riding will be closed on days where stable is closed due to weather or other- please call ahead to schedule/check for openings
§ Current maximum number of riders is 5 per day, please call ahead to schedule open ride times each week
§ GA staff has the right to remove Open Riding privileges at any time for any reason
