Respecting Adults
at School
Integration Specialist - Tania Kraus
Adults at school may be a teacher, the principal, the librarian, another teacher or the classroom helper.
Adults at school sometimes ask me to do something I don’t like to do.
Adults at school want me to follow the rules.
An adult at school asks me to do something. I should follow the rules. These are my rules:
· I look at the adult.
· I listen to the adult.
· I say, “OK.”
· I don’t pout, whine, or argue.
· I will do it right away.
When my teacher says it is time for writing, I will try to do what she asks me. I will take out paper and a pencil and start to write what she tells me.
When it is time to work in another classroom, I will look at the teacher, listen to what the teacher asks me to do, then do it right away.
I should not talk back to the adult. That is rude behavior.
I should not say, “I don’t want to.”
When an adult asks me to do my work, I should not say, “No.”
Adults at school will be sad if I use rude behavior.
Sometimes I get upset at school. I still need to follow my rules.
I will try to show respect to adults by using nice words.
I will try to show respect to adults by following my rules.
Adults at school will be happy when I use nice words and follow my rules. I will be happy too!
