1.  Purpose and Background

1.1 Purpose: The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to enter into an agreement with a training consultant to develop and conduct training for the Windows7-Office2010-Internet Explorer9 (WOI) project for the City of Seattle employees.

1.2 Background: The City is planning to upgrade most of the City departments to Windows 7, Office 2010, and Internet Explorer 9, during a 9-month period starting May, 2013 through January, 2014. Any reference to MS Office training refers to only Word, Excel, and Outlook (most commonly used applications).

The City must upgrade the workstation operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 7 by April 8, 2014 when Microsoft discontinues support for XP.

2.  Scope of Work

With the exception for Seattle City Light, the City will upgrade Windows XP to Windows 7, MS Office 2007 to MS Office 2010 and Internet Explorer 8 to Internet Explorer 9 for most City departments. Seattle City Light will upgrade from MS Office 2003 to MS Office 2010. Since there are differences among the departments for the deployment, the organization of this document is broken into two separate scopes of work: A. The City and B. Seattle City Light.
