Again this year, Bishop Smith CHS will be hosting the annual elementary county cross country running meet. We look forward to seeing you and your teams in October at Hugli’s Blueberry Ranch, www.blueberryranch.ca, just outside Pembroke. Enjoy the start of another school year.
Note that we will require the names and respective divisions of your athletes ahead of time - as indicated on the attached registration sheet. Please e-mail these to by Thursday, October 6th. We would like to avoid last minute changes to names and divisions.
Huglis offers a selection of lunchable snacks including pizza for your runners. “Renfrew County Cross Country” shirts are, once again, available at a cost of $20.00.
As Brian and Judy Hugli run a busy business, please refrain from inquiries for your team to practice run the course prior to race day. Race packages will also only be available on the morning of Wednesday, October 12th.

Coaches,
Between 8:45 A.M. and 9:30 A.M,
· pick up your team’s registration package (instructions, maps, schedule, etc.) at the welcome desk under the large white tent;
· pay your team’s entry fee of $50.00 payable to RCEIAA;
· teams are invited to walk the 2.0 km (A / B / C category course) with their respective coach - trail attendants will assist with directions;
· buses / cars please park at the front of Hugli’s Blueberry Ranch;
· return all trophies to the registration desk under the large white tent.

11:30 A.M. C Girls – 11 and Under (2.0 km)
12:00 P.M. C Boys – 11 and Under (2.0 km)
12:30 P.M. Open Girls (3.0 km)

Other Notes:
· Age categories are as of December 31, 2016. Runners only race in one of the A, B or C categories; all runners are eligible to run in the Open category.
· Team scores, for division champions, are based upon a school’s top 4 runners in each race.
· Individual champions (top 3), in each division will receive medals.
· Trophy and ribbons for the top team in each race, and ribbons for the runner up team.
· Coaches are reminded to follow school protocol re: student puffers and epi-pens.
· Coaches of special needs athletes are asked to contact the conveners before race date to accommodate their athletes.
· Teams should attempt to wear like colored team shirts.
· The A, B and C category course is approximately 2.0 km, and the Open category course is approximately 3.0 km.
· Pizza, pop and various other lunchable snacks will be on sale throughout the day.
· “Renfrew County Cross Country” shirts are available for a cost of $20.00.
