QALL GROUND RULES (2013)

1. The pre-game warm-up (thirty minutes maximum – less time if required to start the game on time) shall be evenly divided between the visiting team and the home team with the visiting team taking the first portion and the home team taking the second portion. The batter’s box, if chalked, shall not be occupied during either warm-up period.

2. For any field, a ball that hits any part of a tree along either foul line shall be considered a dead ball, and if a batted ball in flight, a foul ball. A batted fair ball that touches a tree, pole, or other object over and beyond an outfield fence shall be a home run.

3. Field rules for specific playing fields are as follows:

· QA Rec. Center Field #1: The out-of-play line to the right shall be an imaginary line extending from the infield fence until it intersects at a 90°angle with a line just beyond the equipment box. All other area within the fences shall be considered playable territory.

· QA Rec. Center Field #2: The out-of-play line to the left shall be an imaginary line extending from the infield fence until it intersects at a 90°angle with a line just beyond the equipment box. All other area within the fences shall be considered playable territory.

· QA Rec. Center Field #3: The out-of-play line to the right and to the left shall be an imaginary extension of the backstop fence until it intersects at a 90°angle with a line just beyond the paved portion of the dugout. Any fair ball that runs up the slope foul of the left foul line shall be a ground-rule double. All other area within the fences shall be considered playable territory.

· Interbay – North: The out-of-play lines shall be an extension of the backstop fences.

· Interbay – South: The out-of-play line to the right shall be an extension of the backstop fence to the bottom of the slope, thence following the bottom of the slope in toward center field. Any ball batted fairly that flies over the bottom of the slope shall be a home run. The light pole in left field shall be out of play. Any ball batted fairly that hits the light pole on the fly shall be a home run. All other area within the fences shall be considered playable territory.

· Little Howe (East QA Playground): The out-of-play lines on the left and right sides shall be an extension of the backstop fences on those respective sides of the field. Any fly ball batted fairly that carries over the stone wall in right-center field or into the bushes in right field shall be a home run. Any ball batted fairly that bounces over the stone wall in right-center field, or rolls or bounces into the bushes in right field shall be a ground-rule double.

4. All players must either be on the field or in the dugout during the course of the game. At no time shall players climb up the fences. No game participant shall bring food or drink to the coach’s box, or out on the playing field.
