POWER POINT PRESENTATION: CAREERS IN BUSINESS

Research is important to making decisions on a career or job. This project will help you find out about a business-related career, which may be of interest to you. You may, and should, use a variety of research sources. Careercruising.com and “Career Options” (sort of ‘job catalogue’ book) are two great sources, but don’t limit yourself to those! Your assignment is to choose a career and, using the link provided, create a Power Point Presentation around that career which fills three objectives

1. You will learn more about the career and how it has developed over the years.

2. You will share with the rest of the class your findings through a Power Point Presentation.

3. You will demonstrate your understanding of the Microsoft Power Point program.

Project Requirements:

1. You must have a minimum of 12 slides including

a) Title slide (the career, your name and the course)

b) 1 slide with general information to introduce your PowerPoint (similar to a table of contents)

c) 1 slide which gives a general description of the career you have chosen

d) At least six slides representing specific information on your career. Some of the types of information you should include are:

q Working Conditions

q Earnings

q A history of the job, such as:

1. Why the job emerged

2. What changes there have been over time?

3. What is the forecast for the future of this job?

q A Day In The Life

q Education Needed

q Career Path

2. Your Power Point Presentation must use the following elements:

a) A variety of slide layouts (all must have the same background) must be used.

b) Bulleted lists Slide transitions and animations must be used.

c) Use an appropriate slide background for the career you have selected.

d) Images to support your ideas
