Position Title: Volunteer - Fundraising Events Coordinator (Part-time)

Department: Reports to: Noel Henderson

General Manager, Development and Fundraising

Location: St Kilda Road, MELBOURNE

Incumbent: N/A

Position: 12 months volunteer opportunity

POSITION PURPOSE:

A new part time Volunteer role has been created to support our renewed focus on fundraising through co-ordinating events and business partnerships. The role will work in with the fundraising team helping to provide guidance and support to community and national fundraising staff.

Responsibilities:

·  Research and develop innovative potential fundraising event opportunities

·  Manage relationships with individual community donors

·  Provide guidance and support to community fundraisers and national fundraising staff

·  Manage event volunteer recruitment and engagement

·  Work to budget and provide progress reports to management

Skills and Attributes:

·  Demonstrated experience in facilitating events based fundraising

·  Strongcommunication & presentation skills both written and verbal

·  Excellent relationship management skills

·  Offer strong project management skills

·  Self- motivated and enthusiastic

RECOMMENDATIONS:
·  Ability to recommend best practices for setting up events and what projects to establish
·  Ability to recommend business or community groups to liaise with

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

Positive and flexible attitude.

Ability to use initiative, work autonomously and as part of a team.

Background in events management

High degree of organisation and time management skills.

English language competency.

Microsoft software skills - Word, Excel and Outlook.

Document creation

Availability to commit for minimum 10 months to this role preferably 1 year – involving 8-10 hours per week. Some hours can be from home, some on-site each week.

Must pass a police and working with children’s check
