Job Summary

The Widex Office of Research in Clinical Amplification (ORCA-USA) in Lisle IL USA is looking for a Research Scientist. This position is heavily involved in all phases of clinical research in hearing aids and hearing loss.

Essential Responsibilities

Ø Recruitment of subjects

Ø Review of literature and research trends

Ø Help design study protocol

Ø Prepare and test set-up, collect data, help in data reduction and analysis and report write-up.

Ø The candidate will also disseminate the study findings at major professional meetings and publications through professional and trade journals.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Ø AuD with research record or preferably PhD degree in audiology or hearing sciences.

Ø Good working knowledge of all electrophysiological and neurophysiological recording methods related to hearing

Ø Degree (MS or PhD) in neuroscience, cognitive psychology, biomedical or electrical engineering (specializes in DSP) will also be considered.

Ø Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ø Must possess computer hardware and software skills and have a strong statistics background.

Ø Experience in Audiophiles and music is very helpful.

Ø Should have strong organization and analytical skills while paying close attention to detail.

Ø Should be compassionate during interaction with patients / participants
