PLEASE NOTE FOLLOWING RULES

1. Entries in all classes must be accompanied by Entry Fee and received NO LATER

THAN Friday 25th JULY 2014.

2. All entries must be the bona-fide property of the exhibitor and in her or her

possession at times of entry, but may be entered and exhibited by an intermediate

member of the family.

3 Persons making entries and failing to send exhibits shall forfeit all entry fees paid.

4. An exhibit entered in a wrong class shall be excluded altogether and no alteration

can be made in the Entry Form after it is received.

5. The Show Committee shall not be responsible for loss or accident of any kind which

may occur to exhibitors or visitors or otherwise.

6. All Exhibits will be distinguished by NUMBER ONLY.

7. Exhibits in Horse and Cattle Sections will be in the Show Paddock before 9.30a.m.

All other exhibits must be in Exhibition Hall before 9.30p.m. on Friday 2nd of August or before 10.00a.m. on morning of Show.

8. The Committee shall not be responsible for any delivery of any exhibit at the Show

or for its removal from the Show.

9. Any act of discourtesy or trying to influence an official or judge, on the part of an

owner or servant, shall disqualify the exhibit from being awarded a prize and also

disqualify the exhibitor from competing at future Shows.

10. No member shall act as judge or steward in any ring during adjudication who is an

exhibitor, or no exhibitor shall be allowed to do likewise. Violation of this rule will

entail disqualification.

11. The Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry or to remove any animals from

the Show Grounds.

12. All first prizewinners in Horse Classes must parade for the Championship of the

Show award, otherwise they forfeit their prize money.

13. That NO EXHIBIT shall be permitted to be removed from the Exhibition Hall prior

to 4.30p.m.

14. No exhibitor is at liberty to move numbers on the stands in the hall without

permission from stewards.

15. All animals both bovine and equine to be led by competent adults only.

16. All Cattle Exhibitors to display numbers clearly in the Ring.

The above rules are formed for the benefit and convenience of exhibitors and the general

public. They will be rightly enforced. All objections must be handed in writing to the

Secretary not later than 6.00p.m. on date of Show and must be accompanied by a deposit

of €25 which shall be forfeited if the Committee find the objections frivolous. The

Committee’s decision is final and binding and there shall be no appeal to a Court of Law. All

entries are accepted on these conditions.

Responsibility for Exhibitors

a. Exhibitors accept that the Judges decision is final in all cases.

b. Where a dispute or case for complaint arises the matter should only be dealt with under f. below.

c. Winners of qualifiers are themselves responsible for entering their animals (or exhibits) for the final within one hour of qualifying.

d. Winners of qualifiers will compete in the final.

e. The Irish Shows Association in conjunction with the sponsor reserve the right to alter or amend the rules of any competition as may be necessary or appropriate.

f. Shows and competitors must contact the I.S.A. for details of any championships and not the sponsor involved.

g. Objections must be lodged in writing with the I.S.A. representative at the Show or the Show Secretary within a half an hour following the completion of judging, together with a fee of €50, or other stated fee, which is refundable in the event of the objection being upheld.

NOTICES OF INTEREST TO CHAMPIONSHIP PARTICIPANTS

IRISH LAW (EU DIRECTIVE)

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS - HORSES AND OTHER EQUINES

Premises Registration:

As from 1st May 2012, any premises (which includes shows, fairs and markets) where horses or other equines are gathered must be registered with the Department. Owners/persons in charge of such gatherings are required to submit a completed application form for registration and to keep records of movements on/off their premises.

Records must be retained for at least 3 years as they may be required by the Department for the purposes of tracing disease. Records required are:

· The name and address of the owner/person in charge of the premises from which the equine came.

· The premises registration number from which the equine cane.

· Passport number/UEL number of the animal.

Equine Identification:

· All Equines (which include horses, ponies and donkeys) must be identified in accordance with EU and national legislation.

· Possession of an unidentified equine is an offence under the legislation.

· Passport must be issued by approved Passport Issuing Organisations (PIOs) within the calendar year of birth (by 31st December in the year of birth) or within six months of birth (whichever is later) and is valid for the lifetime of the animal.

· Microchip - all equines issued with a passport after 1st July 2009 must have a corresponding microchip implanted by a veterinarian which is recorded in the passport and creates a link between the passport and the animal.

A Keepers must:

· Have an equine registered with PIO.

· Have a passport issued in accordance with EU and national legislation.

· Comply with the provisions of the legislation whereby a passport must accompany the equine whenever it is moved to events such as shows, sales and to slaughter plants etc.

- Embryo Transfer: Where a foal is produced by this method the dams passport must

bear a declaration dated, stamped and signed by the stallion owner (or accredited

practitioner where AI is involved) stating the date on which the dam was last covered

(or inseminated) and the name of the covering stallion.

- The owners of Champions and Reserve Champions are invited to submit the animals’

passports to the I.S.A. head office where the placing will be endorsed and officially

stamped with the seal of the Irish Shows Association as a permanent record.

- It is in the interest of shows hosting championship finals that photographs and results

are forwarded to the Irish Farmers Journal immediately following judging.

Three Prizes will be awarded in each class up to 10 entries. Any class with ten or more

entries a fourth prize will be awarded (with exception of Class 6). Passports must be

available for inspection in the Judging rings. Please note all exhibits in Horse Section

to be non-thoroughbred. All horses entering in the following classes are subject to be scanned by a Hon. Veterinary Surgeon at any time during the show. Exhibitors are to wear correct armband numbers at all times.

Rules & Conditions

1. The aim of this championship is to encourage the breeding of Irish Draught foals.

2. The championship is open to all foals eligible for R.I.D. status.

3. One foal to be selected at each qualifier. A second foal may be selected at the

discretion of the judges.

4. The dam’s passport must be produced for inspection at the qualifying rounds and at

the final.

5. The foal’s passport must be produced at the final.

6. One the judges at the qualifying shows to be from the I.D.H.S. panel of judges, if

possible.

7. Foals competing at the final are ineligible to compete in any other class at Bantry

Show.

8. There will be separate classes for colt foal and filly foals at the final.

9. The champion will be selected from the winners of each class.

10. Those rules should be read in conjunction with the Irish Shows Association rules.

2. Foals must be the progeny of a class 1(ID) or class 2 Irish Draught Mare & by a stallion that is classified as CLASS 1/Class 2/ RID (GB) RID (Can) / Grade 2(GB)

3. If the Foals passport is not to hand the mare's passport must be ready for inspection prior to entry to the Judging ring, Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification. Foals must be led at all times.

4. Passports & (Microchips if applicable) should be read by a Vet at the Final

5. One foal from selected shows may qualify for the final if the judges and the I.S.A. agree the standard is high enough

6. One of the judges at the qualifying show must be from the I D H Judges List.

7. Foals qualified for Final are not eligible to enter any other class at the Show where the final is held
