NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for Modernization of one (1) single family home, will be received by the Pierce County Housing Authority, until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 14611 “C” St, Tacoma, Washington 98445. This is not a mailing address, bids mailed to this address will be returned. Mailed bids should be addressed to PCHA P.O. Box 45410 Tacoma, WA 98445. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the above address for the project known as:

“LIPH #125 Modernization” 4903 – 221st St E Spanaway, WA 98387

The scope of work in general includes: Window, door, heater, cabinet, millwork, plumbing fixture replacements, Vinyl Siding installation and interior paint replacement all according to the specifications included in the Invitation for Bids.

A PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the site of the work located at 4903 – 221st St E, Spanaway, WA 98387. Bidders are encouraged to visit the site(s) prior to the Pre-Bid Conference however interior access prior to the conference will not be possible. Bidders are also encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid Conference, however, attendance is not a pre-requisite for bid submission.

Minority and women owned businesses shall be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation. No bidder will be discriminated against on the basis of sex, race, color, age, national origin, or disability in consideration of an award of any contract or sub-contract. Further all bidders are encouraged to solicit and consider minority and women owned businesses as potential sub-contractors and material suppliers for this project.

This project is subject to the Davis Bacon rates of pay. Copies of the rates are contained in the bidding documents.

All bidding documents are on file in the office of the Owner.

Pierce County Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any and all of the bids to waive irregularities in the bidding process and determine minor informalities.

No bidder may withdraw his/her proposal after the time set for opening or before award of Contract, unless said award is delayed for a period exceeding sixty (60) days.
