Physical processing of DVDs for Music Library

ITEM TYPE: MUSIC MEDIA

1) If the front of the case is covered in clear plastic, place security strip underneath the printed insert that is underneath the clear plastic on the outside of the case. If the case is not covered in clear plastic, pull down on the portion of the container running along the back bottom edge and place a security strip underneath the printed insert. Snap the bottom edge of the case back into place. Or place the strip inside the spine of the case and cover with white tape.

2) Write “CSU Music Library” and the accession number with a fine point gold pen on the space around the hole of the DVD(s).

3) Print accession number label. Use the following format:

Music

Library

DVD

34

4) Place accession number labels on front upper left corner of the case and on the spine 1.0 inches from the bottom. Place accession number label on upper front left corner of accompanying booklet if there is one (or write call no. on the booklet). Place label protectors over the labels.

5) Affix a barcode label to the top center of the front of the case. If the front of the case is covered with clear plastic, place the barcode at the top center underneath the plastic.

6) Attach a full adhesive pressure-sensitive date due slip to the front of the container, vertically, in the most unobtrusive spot. If there are multiple discs and/or an accompanying booklet, write “X discs + 1 booklet” at the top of the date due slip in red ink.

7) If there is no cover on the back of a clear jewel case, cut out a section of white pressure-sensitive label to fit the back of the case (to cover up the security strip).
