Graphic organizer with exclamation point, period, and question mark.
Objective: TLW sing a cong called Pop-It-To-Me.
Teacher sings first line and students repeat back. Same thing for 2nd and 3rd lines.
Repeat song and then teach hand motions to children.

Phonemic Awareness/Spelling Readiness

Materials: Large box of crate with one syllable objects inside. Do not let children see objects ahead of time. Readiness Book p.27.
Objective: TLW listen to teacher pronounce the names of the objects in two parts using onset and rime and put the names of the objects back together to say the complete words.
Tell students you have a mystery box. You are going to have them help you
put the words back together. If they can put the two parts together and name the object, then we will pull it out of the box.
Have children sit in a circle. Name the object in box using onset and rime. Have students raise hand if they can name the object. If they are correct, they get to hold the object. When all objects are given out the students try to say the name of the object using onset and rime. (See p. 27)

Give each student an index card and have students sit in circle. Teacher calls out the following:

If you are holing can POP UP.
If you are a boy and you are holding can POP UP.
If you are a girl and you are holding Jack POP UP, ETC…
