Peninsular Plating Company, Grand Rapids, Michigan
On October 5, 1999, the DEQ, Waste Management Division entered an Administrative Consent Order with Peninsular Plating Company (Peninsular) to resolve alleged violations of Part 111, Hazardous Waste Management, of the NREPA related to Peninsular’s generation and management of hazardous wastes. The Consent Order requires Peninsular to comply with management requirements for hazardous waste, complete an Interim Response Action Plan to address historic soil and groundwater contamination at the facility, and pay a civil fine in the amount of $30,000 and costs of surveillance and enforcement in the amount of $1,000.
