My name is Patrick Hodges and I’m the Senior Vice President of Network Sales and Marketing here at LegalShield. I have been an executive with the company now for a little over four years but I have actually been a member since 1993. In fact one of the strongest reasons why I came to the company as an executive was because of the belief I have and the personal benefit I have received for myself and my family through the power of the products and services offered by this great company, LegalShield. The membership was explained to me and offered to me way back in the early ‘90s and I was able to take advantage of that and have used it countless times over the years. And when the company came calling and looking for some new executive talent I was able to be excited about that and was pleased and honored to be asked to come and join this exciting executive team and production company here at LegalShield.

The Fast Start training class is designed specifically to help you get started in your business in a powerful, powerful way. So what are we going to cover over the next two and a half hours? Well, first of all the good news is you are not going to be listening to me for two and a half hours, we have got four of the best trainers we could find anywhere, they just happen to be part of LegalShield, to share this amazing content with you.
What are they going to be talking about over the next couple of hours? Well, first of all one of our learning objectives is to summarize your personal “Why” for joining the business. What is your why? Well, for me why is kind of an acronym. It’s what hurts you or maybe it’s what heals you. Whatever it is it’s something that’s a powerful memory and powerful drive in your life that will push you beyond the roadblocks and the obstacles that are surely going to come up in your path.
We are going to explain the company’s history, about our finding, way back to our founder, Mr. Harland C. Stonecipher, and all the great stories that led up to the founding of this company. And you are going to learn about current market conditions, how the growing need for equal access under the law and protection from identity theft, the fastest growing crime in America these days, is going to be available to you through the great products that we offer here at LegalShield.
Secondly, we are going to understand the value of those products, we are going to highlight some of the coverages for each, the service proposition that’s unique to LegalShield and our founding strength and unique proposition that no one else can compete with and we are also going to help you determine and locate licensing requirements if they apply to you based on where you live in the States or where you are selling plans to potential members.
Thirdly, we are going to describe the compensation, right? Obviously you came here because you believe in the product but how we compensate you is going to make it even more enjoyable for you as you go out and share this mission with those you come in contact with to share these products and services. We are going to explain the compensation in great detail so it is very clear and easy to understand. You are going to learn about the four ways we compensate you and how you can advance through that compensation plan to get yourself paid and promoted repeatedly time and time again.
And then fourth, we are going to teach you how to use the proven and tested system that’s been validated time and time again to drive success with our LegalShield business owners, leveraging the experts and live events along the way to help you take full advantage of all the great tools and assets we have at your disposal.
And good news is we have got some great trainers, as I said, to share all of these information with you. They are going to be entertaining, they are going to be enlightening. Each of them has a phenomenal story, each of themselves. I’m so pleased that they were able to take time out of their busy schedules to share some time with us, to train you on this powerful content today.

Liz Foo-Lequeux: Thank you so much Mr. Hodges and welcome new associates to LegalShield. I am so excited for you because when I got started with this business I was only 23 years old. I had no business experience, I had very little life experience, but I plugged into the system that you are going to learn today and by my 25th birthday I had ended up making my first six-figure year in LegalShield. And what that has meant to me is I eventually got married, I became a mom. I now have a four and a five-year-old and I'm home with them every single day. I'm home seven days a week, focused on family first while making what most people would consider a CEO’s income. So I'm so glad for LegalShield. And at this time I would like to introduce to you one of your other trainers for today who is a Millionaire Club member, a $500,000.00 Ring Earner, and Platinum Executive Director, Mr. Darnell Self.

Darnell Self: Well thanks Liz. Again my name is Darnell Self, born and raised here in Maryland, and I have a background of retail management. In fact, the word retail since the age of 16, 11th grade in high school and 12th grade all the way through college and when I graduated with my degree in college my experience in retail actually outweighed my degree so I just continued to work retail. I worked 60, 70, and even 80 hours a week during the holiday season and if you have ever worked retail especially in the management capacity you know my hours. And the weekends are the most important time in retail so you miss out on everything that happens in your personal life on the weekends. My kids’ sporting events we are on the weekends, I missed those, and birthday parties and family reunions. You can imagine, I missed everything. And so I said to myself at 25 years old “No way am I going to do this for the rest of my life.”
And so I stepped out at 25 years old to become an entrepreneur, tried a couple of different home business that did not work out for me, and at 28 years old LegalShield came into my life and it blessed my family. My wife and I were able to become full time stay-at-home parents in our 20s. We have not worked a job since. Seventeen years in LegalShield I have been able to build our business from home. We now give away more to missions and ministries that we support more than we used to make in an entire year at our jobs. Our kids’ tuition, three of our kids have tuition, and that is more than what our salary used to be for the entire year. So I cannot imagine what our lifestyle would be like if we did not have LegalShield in our lives.
So it is my honor to be able to co-train on this online training series today and I'm joined by a partner of mine, Mr. Brian Carruthers who I have a massive amount of respect for. He is a sought after speaker, trainer, an author in and outside of LegalShield. He has been able to create a massive amount of success here in LegalShield, one of my top income earners, and he has been great at helping others to do the exact same thing so you are in great hands with my friend, Mr. Brian Carruthers.

Brian Carruthers: Thank you, Darnell. You know people get started up in a LegalShield business they are trying to fix a problem in their life, looking for a solution. Either people have money and no time or they have time and no money. Well, my situation was I was in my real estate career in my 20s making a six-figure income already before I was even 26 years old. So I had great income, I just had no time freedom. I was working six and seven days a week (inaudible). And I had no time for family, no time for friends, and I'm sure some of you listening in can relate to feeling like you are on a treadmill or you are on the grind where you just keep on going and going and going. When are you ever going to get off the treadmill? That is where I was. And I saw LegalShield as a way for me to build up a passive residual income eventually so I can walk away from real estate or cut back in my hours and get my life back. I just wanted to have control. One of the basic human drives is we all want to be in control of our own life, of our own schedules, of our own destiny and that is what LegalShield has done for me. Not only did I start making so much money rather quickly in LegalShield because I took it in very seriously as fast as I possibly could. I was able to replace my real estate income my first year, made more money in LegalShield than I was making in my full time real estate career, which enabled me to come home, build a business strictly for myself. And here is what is amazing – my nine-year-old son, Talon, has no idea what it would be like to have a parent working outside of the home. I have been a stay-at-home dad his entire life thanks to LegalShield. I would like to say that LegalShield gives kids their parent back. If you are a parent listening in right now I'm sure you have had times in your life where you wish you had more time with your kids and unfortunately work did not provide that opportunity for you. Well, building a part time LegalShield business has enabled hundreds and hundreds of parents to be able to come home to be with their kids and, more importantly, be able to run your own schedule and be able to give back when you want to give back, be able to serve the world. You can have fun, help others, and make money all at the same time inside of LegalShield. So I'm excited for you to get started up in your LegalShield business. And I want to throw it over now to Chris Hughes who is a Platinum Executive Director, earning over $200,000 a year with a $250,000 Ring and a Millionaire Club member in LegalShield.

Chris Hughes: Okay, Thanks Brian. You know I love the fact that so many people from all walks of life can have success in LegalShield. Before I was here I was 27 years old. I was a college dropout. I lived in the bad part of town at Fort Worth, Texas. All I wanted to do was play, I just wanted to enjoy my life, I wanted to play sand volleyball and travel and go to the beach and fish and hang out with my family and my friends. But I also had to pay my bills. And I was living below the poverty line with my brother Jeff introduced me to LegalShield and I remember how excited I was about the possibilities. I would lay in my bed at night and think about what might be possible in LegalShield. But I also felt a little skeptical and that is why I'm so honored to be one of your Fast Start trainers because it was at my Fast Start training back in 1999 where all that skepticism gave way to enthusiasm and the rest is, as they say, history.
As a matter of fact my first year in LegalShield I made more money doing this part time than I did on my full time job and less than two years later I was earning more than $100,000 a year with LegalShield and it has gone far better since then. And as much as I appreciate the money, I do not value the money. I do not value money like I value freedom. I only value money for its ability to give me greater and greater levels of freedom – freedom to come and go like I want to, freedom to do what I want to do, freedom to travel, freedom to put my four children in amazing private schools, freedom to give to my church, freedom to buy good clean healthy food, freedom to be a dad and be involved with the things and the people that I love and have so much passion for. And I feel so, so incredibly blessed to be a part of LegalShield and as good as things have been in the past I know that our best days are in front of us and you have made an awesome decision to join us.
Now let us get to work. Now let us talk about why we are all doing this – building our own businesses in LegalShield.

So let me ask you what is your why? In other words what is your reason or what are your reasons for doing LegalShield? Why are you here? Do you want time and financial freedom? Are you trying to get out of a job? Do you just want to make extra money so you can pay off your bills? What is it? For me, as I already indicated, I wanted freedom. I did not want to spend the next 40 years of my life being told what to do by a boss at a job or some big company corporation, being told when to take a break, when to go to the bathroom, when to come in, when I could leave, when I could have a vacation. So for me this is all about freedom. I want to be able to dictate my life from start to finish as much as possible.
