PART-TIME HOURLY TEACHER

The Columbus City School District is accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Hourly

Middle School Reading Teacher. Selected individuals will teach weekly for maximum of 4.5 hours per day 5 days a week – either AM or PM determined by the building administrator. The daily 4.5 hours include 30 minutes of planning and communication time. Additional hours per month are given for professional development. The teacher will work with students in grades 6-7-8 in small groups for 52 minutes each session.

SELECTION CRITERIA

· Valid Ohio teaching certificate; 4-9 Reading/Language Arts, K-8, 1-8, 7-12 English,

· or K-12 Intervention Specialist (K-12 Reading Endorsement encouraged)

· Computer and data management skills

· Demonstrated ability to teach

General Responsibilities

· Teach daily for a maximum of 22.5 hours per week (4.5 hours per day)

· Teach students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades

· Targeted students will be at non-proficient level

· Flexibly group students based on progress monitoring scores

· Use the intervention program and materials

· Administer progress monitoring and program assessment as needed

· Written communication with principal/classroom teacher at least weekly

· Other responsibilities as assigned

Timetable: Deadline for application: August 3, 2012. Positions will start as soon as possible after Board approval.

Salary: $30.62/hour
