POSITION: Restorative Justice Project Coordinator

ADR Education Center

SALARY: $25.00 per hour - Part-time 28 hours maximum – Grant Funded

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Human Services, or related field of study. Candidates must have one year of supervisory experience and one year of experience working with at-risk students. Applicant must possess knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with students of all ages. Applicant must hold a valid N. C. state driver’s license.

RESPONSIBILITIES: An employee in this position will be responsible for project coordination to include supervision of restorative justice facilitators and volunteers. This employee will represent schools at the Restorative Justice conferences, oversight of restorative processes and appropriate referral process for students, parents, and staff of Iredell Statesville Schools while ensuring program/processes are effectively implemented to accomplish objectives in alignment with broader objectives of Iredell Statesville Schools.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES:

Volunteer Program

· Volunteer supervision in coordination with PMCI for restorative justice. Civic groups, agency and volunteer organizations to be coordinated.

Referral Source Development

· Represent I-SS in restorative justice conferences

· Oversee referral processes for I-SS involvement in restorative justice practices

Restorative Justice for I-SS Development

· General understanding of restorative approaches and referral procedures within I-SS

· Liaison with Piedmont Mediation for referrals of restorative justice conferences

Data Collection

· Coordinator of conference data, volunteer hours and competency development of volunteers

· Evaluations of both conferences and volunteers

Coordination of GCC Requirements with Project Director

Management Competencies

· Strong program and organizational skills

· Strong verbal and written communication skill; ability to articulate and gain support from others

· Ability to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with team members, executive leadership, referral sources, and funding sources.

· Strong understanding of restorative justice

· Ability to be flexible and to work in a transaction-driven environment to meet objectives of assignment while also meeting budget and quality goals

· Strong presentation skills required; skilled in facilitating groups

· Uses problem solving skills for decision-making

· Presents ideas, expectations and information in a concise, well-organized way

· Manages group or interpersonal conflict situations effectively

· Able to affectively assess risk against business benefits
