One (1) Full Time Social Worker II – Permanency Planning

Department of Social Services

Duties and Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the development and implementation of a program which recruits new families into the foster parent network and will be one portal of entry for initial foster home applications. Will facilitate, coordinate and provide training for the foster families in accordance with licensing and relicensing regulations; will work with families in helping them process expectations in relationship to agency expectations; help foster families assess whether their expectations match the realities of foster parenting; will guide the family through the finalization of the licensing process meeting all required standards, policies and procedures of state and federal laws.

Qualifications: BSW from an accredited school of social work; or a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and one year of directly related experience; or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years of directly related experience. MAPP-GPS leader certification required in order to teach the MAPP class required for foster parents.

Pre-employment drug test and background checks required of finalist applicants.
