Modifications for Differentiated Instruction: / For students who have difficulty with the math portion of the lesson, you can have them work in pairs to complete the activity. Have the pair put both names on the paper, and print two copies.
Other: / For an outside connection, have the students print a copy with their number sentence removed. Take the copies and laminate them. Put them in a center folder with white board markers and the students at the center can write the corresponding number sentence on the paper.
As an extension activity, the students will use a text box to write a story problem to go with their picture. This can be done including the number sentence, or printed without the number sentence for use with the above connection activity.
