Video Legends

Video 1: A dyspnea attack in our patient with progressive supranuclear palsy. She could barely exhale but could inhale. Dyspnea made her cyanotic and she involuntarily groaned. After her groaning continued for a time, she could eventually exhale. Her speech was mildly ataxic but not dysphonic.

Video 2: Laryngoscopic images acquired during a dyspnea attack. Her vocal cords could open during inspiration but were completely closed during expiration with an elevation of her larynx. She could speak during the attack and phonation relieved larynx tightness. Video images of the patient speaking during the attack are also shown.
