NHS General Meeting Agenda
· Bake sale: $208.20
o Thank you to everyone who baked!
o Next bake sale is November 14. Next group plan accordingly.
· VOTE to authorize Officers to approve expenditures for supplies
· Trunk Or Treat
o Event runs from 10-2. Be there by 9 to help set-up. t
o Costumes!
o Final trunk count
o Baking: 30 minutes. Counts as a separate bake sale.
o Feel free to come and help even if you are not on a designated committee
· Bylaws AND Service Hour Guidelines
o Must attend 75% of meetings
o Hours must be completely voluntary (non paying)
o Cannot use PIG hours or other club hours
o Mandatory events: John Jay Man, Winter Carnival, Induction
o 25 hours total, up to 10 outside.
o NHS is not simply about receiving hours. Please keep this in mind. It is about service.
o Vote to submit to Faculty Council
· Charity
o 2 people have approached me about charities
o This is important to the club as a whole. It should be a decision between all of us. If everyone shows indifference, the officers will choose a charity. This is what we will be donating to at the end of the year, all our hard work.
o Charity slips, hand in at end
· LEAD Conference in DC - Any interest?
· Custodian Appreciation Day - When? Committee?
· Adopt-a-Family for the Holidays
· JOHN JAY MAN!! We need to start planning NOW!
o Steering Committee - Officers PLUS 5-6 additional students

· SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
o Gayhead Elementary School PTA is hosting a holiday shopping vendor/craft fair on Friday Dec 2nd from 4-9pm. I am looking for some HS volunteers that may need some community services hours to possibly help us at our event. Last year I worked with the math honor society. We are Looking for about 8 - 10 volunteers again this year. We would need them to help with setup and clean up, help our young students shop for family members while parents browse / shop in our other cafeteria. Also if one of them would be excited and willing to wear our school Mascot, we would like him to make an appearance that night as well. Angela Cavarretta, 845-222-7906
