WEISZ (and variant spellings) Family

My WEISZ (and variant spellings) family has roots in Csermernye (very close to Vranov nad Toplou), dating back to the early 1800s (around 1810-1830) and Michalovce dating from the mid 1800s (around 1830-1860). My branch of this family lived in Galszecs (Secovce). The various branches all emigrated to the U.S. roughly between 1875 and 1900, settling mostly in Cleveland and environs, but some branches settled in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Poughkeepsie, Ossining, Hempstead, and Minneapolis. Several descendants eventually made their way west to Los Angeles.

This WEISZ/WEISS family is of Levitic origin. A y-DNA test has been done on the sole living male WEISS descendant in my branch of the family. To date, there are several 12 marker matches, however, none from this area of Slovakia. I am interested in contacting other WEISZ/WEISS families from the area (Levites or non-Levites) to see if there is any connection.

Names associated with my branch of the family include: UNGERLEIDER, JACOBSON, WEISS (from Szurte, now Strumkovka, UKR), PERLSTEIN, WEIS[Z]BERG[ER], STOSZEL/STACEL, WEINBERGER, ROSNER, MIRKIN, OPPENHEIMER, ELLENTUCK, SCHREIER, FURST, HOOR.

Names associated with other branches of the family include:

HOROWITZ, BERNSTEIN, ROZENBLUT, KOHN, BEITMAN, KYMAN, GOLDHAMER, DETTELBACH, FISHMAN, ENGELMAN, FRIEDMAN, NEWMAN, LOBITZ, GOLDSMITH, GREENBERG, KLEIN, MOSKOVITZ (changed to MORSE), WEINBERGER, GOLDBERG, SPERO, BUBIS, WERTHEIMER, WALDMAN, LIPSHAY, STEINMAN, SATZ, SAUER, FERRO, POST, EICHNER, GREENFIELD, IMMERMAN, GRODIN, GREENBAUM, COHN, RUBIN, MARKS, SILVER, KARMIOLE, DAN.

I would be happy to compare notes with any interested researchers.
