Truncating-- The cool thing about a URL is that is can be truncated or traced backwards. Truncating is a great tool to use when validating a website. To truncate a web address, delete all the characters up to the previous slash. Each time you delete a slash you move up a level; eventually you will end up going to the domain name and generally to the home page of the website.
