GRADING:

Your grade will consist of:

Tests 50%

Quizzes /Graded Assignments 30%

Daily Homework 20%

Tests: Cumulative tests will be given at the end of each unit. Tests will be designed to model the Geometry Common Core Regents Examination, including “multiple choice” and “show your work” questions. A midterm will be given in January and will count as two test grades. Students will be taking the Geometry Common Core Regents Examination in June 2017.

Quizzes: Quizzes will be given periodically throughout each unit (at least one per unit).

Daily Homework: You will be assigned homework almost every night. These homework assignments will be checked for completion and will be graded based on effort, work shown, and completeness. Daily homework will be graded on a scale of 0-4. Late assignments will not be accepted as they are reviewed at the beginning of each class.

ABSENCES:

It is the responsibility of the student to show the teacher any missed homework assignments on the day they return, or the next day if it is just picked up. All notes are on our websites and students are expected to copy these notes and come see the teacher if they have any questions. All quizzes and tests must be made up on the day of return unless the student was absent more than one day. In this case, see the teacher to determine an acceptable time frame to make up any missed work.

ACADEMIC DISHONESTY:

If a student is involved in academic dishonesty (cheating, plagiarism, etc.), a zero will be given for that assignment. No make up assignment will be provided, and if there is an opportunity to drop a grade during the marking period, the above-mentioned zero will not be dropped. The next lowest grade will be dropped.
