Competition heights are KC heights Large, Medium and Small, but you can enter your dog at any height lower than their measured height for Clear Round only

Classes for dogs jumping large will be held in the morning and, for those jumping small and medium heights, classes will be after lunch (please do not arrive before 1:30 pm). There will be a cap of 50 dogs in the morning and 50 dogs in the afternoon. An exercise area will be available. Please park where directed.

In addition, a pay on the day class may be held if time permits

You may compete or train in the ring (or do one round of each!). If you are training you may carry a silent toy or use non-crumbly small pieces of food carried securely!

If you are training and/or use toys/titbits your round will be NFC (Not For Competition) and must not exceed the maximum course time (90 seconds). Please advise the Scrimer that your round is to be NFC.

If you jump at your KC measured (or estimated) height you may compete for a place – see Table below.

You may enter at a lower height, in which case you are eligible for a Clear Round rosette but you cannot compete for a place.

Trophies for all first places and place rosettes depending on entry numbers. Clear round rosettes are available for all classes. No “up” contacts will be marked.


Proposed order of classes

You have two runs at agility and two runs at steeplechase and the best one counts in each. Please collect your scrime sheets from the secretary on arrival. Grades 1-3 courses must be walked at the same time. Grades 4-7 courses must be walked at the same time.

At the end of each class, jumps will be lowered to LHO (low height option) for any CRO (clear round only) entries at that height.


KC Rules below apply

1.  Only dogs of 18 calendar months of age and over on the day of competition are eligible for competition at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows.

2.  No bitch in season is allowed to compete.

3.  The mating of bitches within the precincts of the competitions is forbidden.

4.  No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time within the boundaries of the Show.

5.  Dogs must not wear any type of slip, half-slip collar or lead when under test. A flat, close fitting, leather or webbing collar is permitted, providing the only attachment is a plain identification panel as an integral part of the collar ie not attached by a ring.

6.  Should a judge be unable to fulfil the appointment to judge the Committee reserves the right to appoint another judge.

7.  No competitor shall impugn the decision of the judge or judges.

8.  Kennel Club standard marking regulations apply for all standard classes.

9.  The heights of the jump obstacles will be as per rule H(1)(B)3a, ie 650mm (550mm for lower height option) for large dogs, 450mm (350mm for lower height option) for medium dogs, and 350mm (250mm for lower height option) for small dogs.

10.  The Height limit for dogs: Large Dog classes – for dogs measuring over 430mm (1ft 5ins) at the withers
Medium Dog classes – for dogs measuring over 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) and measuring 430mm (1ft 5ins) or under at the withers.
Small Dog classes – for dogs measuring 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) or under at the withers.

11.  Judges at an Agility Show may not enter for competition a dog which is recorded in their ownership or part ownership; or handle a dog at the Show at which they are judging. Dogs may be disqualified if proved to have been handled in the class by the scheduled judge’s spouse or immediate family, or resident at the same address as the scheduled judge.

12.  Removal of dogs from Competition: Following discussion between the show management and/or a veterinary surgeon, a dog shall be prevented from competing and /or removed from the Show if it is:

a) A bitch which is in season.
b) Suffering from any infectious diseases or contagious disease.
c) Interfering with the safety or chance of winning of an opponent.
d) Of such temperament or is so much out of control as to be a danger to the safety of any person or other animal.
e) Likely to cause suffering to the dog if it continues competing.

22.  Dog Agility is a competitive and physically strenuous activity. It is the responsibility of the owner/handler to ensure their dog is ‘fit for function’ and that they themselves are fit to take part. By signing the entry form you confirm that to the best of your knowledge your dog is fit and able to take part in Agility classes on the day of the show.

23.  In the event that the show is unable to go ahead due to unforeseen circumstances all competitors will be offered the opportunity to transfer their full entry to the next date, or given a refund less reasonably incurred expenses. Competitors must request a refund within 1 month of the cancelled show date.

27.  Should the judge deem a re-run is required, any result and/or faults gained in the previous run must be discounted.

28.  Separate entry forms must be completed by each owner and must be signed by the owner or his authorised agent in accordance with the provisions specified thereon. Entry forms must be accompanied with the appropriate fees.

29.  Competition of dogs suffering from Contagious or Infectious Disease - No dogs suffering from infectious or contagious disease or having been exposed to such disease during the period 21 days prior to the competition may compete.

30.  It is the competitor’s responsibility to be available for their class and running order.

31.  A Pay on the Day class for any dog competing at the show may be run if time permits.

32.  Welfare of Dogs - A Competitor whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not knowingly put their dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. A breach of this regulation may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations.
