2)  Possible Event Ideas – Riley

A)  What are some event and activity ideas that you are interested in the YP group doing this year?

·  Construction site visits. Extended lunch timeframes work well for people in Santa Cruz area. 3 to 4 pm are also good options. Most supervisors are supportive and encourage staff to participate. Jared to plan a site visit for the City of Watsonville Chromium 6 facility construction this summer.

·  Brewery and Distillery Tours. These were a big hit. Idea to do one of these every other month. Jared volunteered to contact Discretion Brewing to set up a tour. Based on a Google search, the following micro breweries are located in the Santa Cruz area:

·  Softball team. Scott Glucs volunteered to find out when the season started and more details about the City of Santa Cruz’s league.

·  Events for Salinas Monterey. This has been a common refrain. Need some champions for South Bay.

·  Hikes. Samantha Cho has expressed interest in organizing a hike to the Pinnacles. Various hikes in the Santa Cruz Mountains are options.

3)  Updates post-meeting

A)  Scott and Jared coordinating regarding brewery tours. Scott has a contact with Discretion. However, it would be difficult to do tours at Discretion in the afternoon with traffic. B)  Scott connected with both the City of Santa Cruz’s Graham Hill Water Treatment Plant and the Neary Lagoon Wastewater Treatment Plant. They are happy to arrange a tour. Looking to schedule a tour for June 8th or 7th.

C)  Webinars. City of Santa Cruz is happy to invite some YPs to their webinars. They have “Dones in the PW World” scheduled for 5/18/2107 at 8 – 10 AM. Up to 10 YPs welcome to attend. M-ME is also

D)  Softball. Registration opens April 27. Our league would be on Friday evenings this year, and that would be difficult. Scott won’t be managing a team, and it may be difficult to coordinate. Does anyone feel motivated to pick this up??
