Microsoft Office Specialist Certification Information
CCI Learning Solutions, a Certiport Platinum Solutions Provider, is the certification partner for the state of Washington. To date they've helped schools deliver over 14,000 certification exams since the program started in August 2011 and continue to work with every high school in the state to offer the Microsoft Office Specialist and Microsoft Technology Associate certification exams to students, staff and faculty. Their product knowledge of these certification programs as well as Microsoft Office Specialist Approved Courseware (available to all schools as a benefit) and practice exams has provided schools across the state with a total solution for technology certifications.

The Auburn School District has been offering Microsoft Office Specialist Certification since 2001. There were over 500+ certifications at Auburn Riverside High School. Auburn Mountainview has continued this opportunity and last school year 115 certifications were obtained. There were 14 students in the State of WA achieving Master Microsoft Office Specialist (Access/Outlook, Word Expert, Excel Expert and PowerPoint). Six of the fourteen students were from AMHS! These AMHS students are: Ian Nelson, Matt Anderson, Isaiah Evans, Trevor Halvorson, Josh Howard and Abdul Muhammad. Ian Nelson was the first student last year to Master certify in Office 2007 and 2010 for the entire state of WA. There is a two year agreement between Microsoft and OSPI that have made certification free for students and staff. Lab #114 at AMHS was upgraded to Office 2010 is the only lab in the ASD District running Office 2010 and it is in thanks to this agreement.

Art Collection:

The Microsoft Art Collection began in Redmond, Washington, in 1987 when Microsoft had approximately 2,000 employees and occupied six buildings. Today, the collection includes almost 5,000 works of art and is displayed in more than 180 buildings throughout the world. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Visitor Center provides an educational, inspiring, and motivational experience for school groups. Group visits are 60 – 90 minutes and include both a hosted tour and time to explore on your own.

Visitor Center staff will follow up each reservation request with questions to best suit the needs of your group. Each group reservation will receive a pre- and post-visit set of materials to supplement your group’s experience.
