Michelle Gillin is a 42 year old from Mooresville, Indiana and is suffering from fractures of her T2 and T3 vertebrae after being rear ended in a very serious car accident May 18, 2014. Michelle spent 7 days at IU Methodist Intensive Care Unit and then was transferred to RHI for treatment and therapy. Michelle is currently undergoing intensive rehabilitation 5-6 hours a day to learn to function as a paraplegic. She is being released from RHI on June 26th and wishes to return to her home. Throughout high school Michelle was active in basketball, track and cross country. After college she was a cheerleading coach at Decatur Central High School. She has carried her passion of sports over to volunteering in recreational youth basketball, softball and cheerleading leagues for a number of years. Michelle hopes on using her grant to assist with making modifications to their tri-level home and support her continued rehabilitation.
