Metabo’s Four-Piece Cordless 18-volt

Combination Kit to Include SBZ 18 Hammer Drill

WEST CHESTER, Pa. May 2008 – Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, has upgraded its four-piece, 18-volt cordless combination kit to include the SBZ 18 hammer drill/driver featuring lithium ion technology and offering a lighter weight for greater comfort and increased productivity. The kit also includes the ASE 18 reciprocating saw and the KSAP 18 circular saw, both featuring Metabo’s lithium-ion technology, as well as the MLA 18 flashlight making it a versatile kit for a variety of construction applications.

The kit’s SBZ 18 hammer drill/driver ensures optimum performance with a torque adjusting sleeve with five torque settings, drill and hammer drill settings and a high-speed, two-stage gear box that delivers up to 26,800 blows per minute. The hammer drill combines a weight of only 4.4 lbs with a distinctive “Z” shape to provide the user with a perfectly balanced tool offering greater comfort for extended hand-held use and increased productivity with less user strain and fatigue.

Metabo’s ASE 18 cordless reciprocating saw enables easy access to difficult-to-reach locations and is ergonomically designed to reduce operator fatigue by minimizing vibration. The tool features a “Quick” blade changing system to provide easy, tool-free blade changes

and an adjustable shoe that controls the length of the cut and lets operators use the entire length of the blade evenly, extending blade life. The saw measures 19.5” in length and weighs only 7.7 lbs.

Also included in the kit is the KSAP 18, 6-1/2” circular saw, which is ideal for cutting off and ripping lumber up to 2-1/8” thick. With its high-efficiency motor, the KSAP 18 provides more cuts per battery charge than any saw in its class. The tool features a safety lock switch, a no-load speed of 2,500 RPM and an integrated dust extraction port that easily hooks up to a vacuum, minimizing cleanup time and dust inhalation. The saw offers a maximum cutting depth of 2-1/8" at 90° and 1-5/8" at 45°, and weighs only 10.4 pounds (4.72 kg.).

Each kit contains two 18-volt batteries featuring Metabo’s Li-Power lithium-ion technology. With the use of lithium-ion batteries, the tools are lighter and run longer than those that operate with traditional NiCad batteries. Also included in the kit is Metabo’s AC30 plus charger, a patented air-cooled battery charging system that cools the battery and the charger, resulting in 30 percent faster charging and an increased service life of up to 1,500 charges. All of the components come in a heavy-duty carrying case.
