Morning Announcements

· Today’s lunch menu: nachos, chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich w/tots, meat lover’s pizza, Cobb salad, pizza sandwich. The following items are available every day: chicken burger w/tots, cheeseburger w/tots, hamburger w/tots, cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, ham, turkey or American sandwich, chicken Caesar salad and Chef salad.

· There will be a mandatory cheerleader/parent meeting on Thursday, May 28th at 6:00 p.m. in the CHS Career Center.

· Youth Art Show and Contest by Jack, Will and Rob Boys’ and Girls’ Club. Get a form from Ms. Marcell to complete with your submission. Art work will be displayed at the Camas Gallery. Prizes will be awarded to those who win. Some prizes include $35 in drawing and sketching supplies and up to $50 in cash prizes. Please submit any art work to Ms. Marcell by Friday, May 22nd for the art show.

· We are having our third and final dance of the year on Friday, May 29th and it is FREE. Eighth graders get the VIP treatment, as we are kicking off the dance for them at 2:15. Sixth and seventh graders will join at 2:50 p.m. and the dance will go until 4:00 p.m. The theme of the dance is “Musical Festival,” so get those Birkenstocks and tie dye shirts ready!

· Any 7th graders that are interested in Advanced Tech or Advanced Art for next year can pick up an application from Mr. Gillispie, Ms. Marcell, Ms. Mueller, Ms. Kankelberg, or from the main office. Please return your applications to Ms. Marcell and Mr. Gillispie by June 1st. Thank you!

Student Info

· What: CHS Activities, Athletics and Wellness Open House for Incoming Freshmen

When: Thursday, May 21st from 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Where: Camas High School Main Gym

At the Open House you will receive information on many CHS Activities and Athletics as well as visiting vendors promoting healthy lifestyles.

High points to the night will be:

o Speaking with CHS club advisors and members to learn about their activity

o Visiting vendors that will share the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle

o Meeting with coaches of CHS athletic programs

· Reminder to Students – you will no longer be able to charge lunches starting June 1st. All negative meal balances will need to be paid before the last day of school. Thank you!

· Are you interested in learning to play golf? CHS male and female golf teams are hosting a golf camp at Camas Meadows June 2nd-4th. Registration forms are available in the Athletic Office.

· Mrs. Laurine just wanted to let you know that dance tryout packets just arrived at Liberty! There are some parts that take time (i.e.: getting a physical and handing out teacher recommendation forms), so stop by and grab your packet today, if you can. They are in the Athletic Off with Ms. Harlan. Tryouts are June 2-4 with finals on June 6.

· Liberty FLL Robotics Team is organizing for the 2015 season.

Join the FLL Competitive Robotics Team!
Each year FLL teams embark on an adventurous Challenge based on current, real-world issues.

· Research and solve a real-world problem based on the Challenge theme

· Present your research and solutions

· Build an autonomous robot using engineering concepts

We need all sorts of specialists to build a great team - Project Presentation designers, researchers, robot mechanics and programmers!

· Camas High School Magnet students are hosting Monday Math Day in the Library right after school until 3:45 p.m. We are doing a variety of math games and tough math challenges for students who love math. We are also providing tutoring for kids of any class, grade or level that want help in math. Camas High School students are also available on Wednesdays for tutoring students who are struggling in class and kids looking for something new. Please see Mrs. McEathron for more information.

· Do you knit? Would you like to learn to knit? Knitting Club will begin meeting Tuesdays after school in the library from 2:45-3:45 p.m. Knitting Club is open to all students and staff who are interested in knitting. At Knitting Club you can learn to knit, teach others what you know, create and socialize. Bring your own knitting needles and yarn if you have them, or we have supplies you can use! See you Tuesday!

· Do you love painting, drawing, collaging, and generally everything to do with art? Come join our Art club! Art club will meet Thursdays after school from 2:45 to 3:45. Art club is open to all students and staff who are interested in art. We will be working on various projects with many different mediums over the course of the year. This is an opportunity to come, relax, socialize, and create some great art projects for yourself and to display around the school.

· Students – if you are sick, please report to the Health Room. Please do not call home from the classroom or student phone. Thank you!

· Please remember to put a note on your door clip indicating where you and your class are. We spend wwwwwwaaaaayyyyy too much time searching for kiddos. L Thank you for your help with this!

· Certified staff only . . . . .when you need an external sub remember 3.5 hours or less and they get paid for 3.5 hours. Anything more than 3.5 hours and they get paid for a full 7 hours. Please keep this in mind when you enter your absences (don’t forget you can override the ½ day a.m. and ½ day p.m. default times – just make sure you stay within the 3.5 hour timeframe J). Thank you!

· Confiscated Phones/iPods Envelopes – if you take away one of these items from a student, please place it in an envelope (you can find these next to the mailboxes in the workroom), complete the form attached to the envelope and deliver to the office. We’ll keep it safe in a locked drawer until it gets picked up. Please document in their e-discipline file. Thank you!
