Health Benefits of Beets

When to Plant (Spring: 12/15 – 1/30 Fall: 8/1 – 8/20)
· Beets are cool-season plants that grow best at average temperatures between 60 and 65 °F.
· Beets like sandy soil, so their roots have room to expand. Plant beets in full sun
· Beets should be planted early enough in the season to prevent infestation by pests.
How to Eat Beets
· Grate raw beets on a cheese grater and add to salads or mixed dishes.
· Roast whole beets at 475 degrees, covered by tin foil, for 60 minutes. Slice and serve with olive oil and vinegar or your favorite dressing.
