Lab Safety Posters

Each group of two will be given a question/topic to research and then report back to the class what they have learned. You will jot down some notes for your classmates and explain the rules you learned about.

Once you have reported back to the class, you will each individually choose a lab safety rule to make a poster of. Your poster will have the following requirements:

1.  The text of the poster must explain the rule it does not have to be written exactly as it is in your notes.

2.  The title must be visible and readable from across the room but cannot take up more than the top 1/3rd of the paper .

3.  The title must be outlined in black marker/sharpie.

4.  The graphic/picture you draw to illustrate the rule must show an experiment be performed in the lab and positively (show what should be done NOT what shouldn’t be done) illustrate the rule.

5.  The paper for the poster will be supplied to you. This gives you 2 chances to complete your poster. If you make a mistake on your poster turn the paper over and use the backside.

6.  Things to avoid:

Avoid too much empty white spaces

Avoid misspelling any words

Avoid sloppy titles or titles that shrink and expand

Avoid scribble lines that take up space

Avoid late projects

Avoid phone calls/emails to parents because you didn't do it
