BIOGRAPHY

Canadian soprano, Arianna Sovernigo, recently performed the role of Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) with the International Lyric Academy in Rome. In 2008, she debuted with Manitoba Opera in the North American premiere of Jason and Hanna. Her repertoire includes; the title roles in Die Lustige Witwe and La Périchole, Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Micäela (Carmen), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Despina (Cosi Fan Tutte), and Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice).

Equally comfortable on the concert stage, Miss Sovernigo was praised for being “passionate and warm in her rapport with the audience”. In both 2006 and 2007, she was the Vancouver District Metropolitan Opera National Council winner. She attended the University of Manitoba Opera Apprenticeship Program where she performed Gretel (Hansel and Gretel). She is a graduate of the Vancouver Academy of Music where she obtained her Bachelor’s of Music in opera performance. She currently studies with renowned soprano Tracy Dahl.
