Programme Outline

Charlie, being the only son in his family is spoilt. He indulges himself in playing TV games. Although school days are nearly over, Charlie still has not got any plans for his summer holidays. It is not until the day when his Grandmother shows him the trophies of his father’s that he starts to think about learning something in his summer holidays. With the help of his classmate Catherine, Charlie has the chance to visit the riding school where he meets Camellia whom he is very fond of. Apart from the riding school, Charlie also visits the music centre where Catherine and Camellia learn to play music. Does Charlie come up with something that he is really interested in? Can he make a plan for his summer holidays?

Pre-viewing Activities

1. Have the students talk about what they did last summer.

2. Encourage them to exchange ideas.

3. Ask the students why they chose that particular activity.

4. Introduce the first part of the story.

5. Make the class guess what Charlie will do after the visits.

While-viewing Activity

1. Students watch the programme.

2. Students answer the questions in COPYMASTER 1 while watching the programme.
