Weeks Prior to Surgery:

- If you are on any anti-inflammatory medication for example: Aspirin, Advil, Aleve, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Naproxen, Celebrex, Mobic, Voltaren, Diclofenac etc. please STOP these medications at least 1 week (seven days) prior to surgery. Termination of these medications will help to decrease the risk of bleeding problems during surgery. You may take Tylenol, Tramadol, Norco, or Vicodin for pain or discomfort.

- It is the policy of Arcadia Methodist Hospital to have pre-operative testing done prior to your procedure. You can have these results faxed to our office at ----------.

- For three days leading up to the date of your surgery, you are to shower with an antibacterial soap solution such as Dial soap. You can purchase this antibacterial soap at any store.

- Notify Dr Lee’s office at either 626-821-0707 or -------- if your health status changes or you develop symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, or flu prior to your surgery.

Instructions for the Day or Night Before Surgery:

- Someone from ambulatory surgery will contact you the day before surgery with the exact time of arrival to the hospital on the day of surgery. If your surgery is on Monday, they will call you on the Friday afternoon before your surgical date. If your surgery is on a Thursday they will call you on the Wednesday afternoon before your surgical date. They generally call after 3:00pm. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A CALL BY 6:00 PM PLEASE CALL ----------

- DO NOT eat, drink, or smoke after midnight the night before your surgery. This includes gum, mints, water, hard candy and cigarettes. Any stomach contents may pose a serious problem with the use of anesthesia. If you forget to follow these instructions, it will be necessary to cancel your surgery.

- If you are talking any medications, and have been instructed to take these regardless of your scheduled surgery, take the pill with a small sip of water.

Instructions for the Day of Surgery:

- You should report to Arcadia Methodist Hospital…… A map of the hospital campus has been included in your folder.

- Leave all valuables at home.

- Family members and friends may wait in the Family Lounge. Dr. Lee will speak to them after their surgery is completed.

- After surgery you will be given specific instructions regarding your post-op care.
