Stage2 – Assessment Evidence

Performance Tasks:
Research to find a folk tale from another culture that teaches about trustworthiness, Compare to Juan Verdades using a digital Venn and then share Venn with class / Other Evidence:
Practice book pages 133-138, Vocab. quiz, selection test questions on generalizations, Class discussion of reader response questions, trifold 1 & 4 on sequencing, trifold is complete and students are ready to discuss the story, “Write Across Texts”

Stage 3 – Learning Plan

Learning Activities:
Day 1- Discuss essential questions and weekly vocab words, Skill Lesson- Generalizations SB pg 347-348, assess with PB page 133, PT time , leveled readers
Day 2 Vocabulary Strategy- unfamiliar words- using prefixes to determine meaning SB pg. 349-350, assess PB Pg. 135, time to work on PT, Read selection “Juan Verdades” SB pgs. 352-363, Complete trifold while reading to practice comprehension strategies, discuss if honesty was the best policy for Juan
Day 3- review of generalizations, reassess pb pg. 137-138, Discuss Reader Response Questions over selection, PT work time
Day 4- Vocab and selections tests, Work on Venn
Day 5- present PT, read across text “Song of the Chirimia”
