Compass Scrabble
Make 40 card A4 size, all with an arrow at the top to indicate where North is.
Then part way down the cards draw a circle 100 mm in Diameter,
Then write on 10 of each which direction the Joeys are to find with their compass that they will make and carry with them.
So there will be
10 cards North,
10 Cards South
10 Cards East
10 Cards West
These are to be pegged on the ground top and bottom with the North arrow all pointed the same way.
Joeys make a Compass, this is done by cutting a circle 100 mm in Diameter and marking the four Compass points on the face, and explain the game to the Joeys.
This compass the Joeys put on top of the circle on the card to show the way they have to go to get to the next card, You as the Leader will have set out the cards so the Joeys can walk, run or skip from one to the next.
Now add to each direction card, a Letter card.
You should have 40 Letter Cards
You should make up these cards so that they can spell out the Joey Scout Law or Promise. These should be attached to a one of the pegs holding the direction card scramble them and each Joey should be writing them down on a piece of paper, so they can unscramble them later.
This Game can be played with many variations so be imaginative when setting it out. It can be done inside you hall or out in a park. And change the message each time you play it.
