Job title and description of duties: Receptionist

·  Opening surgery and sorting post

·  To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.

·  To work in accordance of written protocols

·  Pulling/filing notes for surgeries and update as necessary

·  Sorting Notes

·  Fax and photocopy as requested

·  Greeting patients courteously and treating them as an individual and respecting their privacy and confidentiality at all times.

·  Handling completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.

·  Using internal & email systems

·  Processing prescriptions request via the website

·  Making appointments and maintaining appointments system.

·  Taking and dealing with all telephone calls

·  Dealing with visits requests

·  Registrations of new patients – computer data entry

·  Process patients change of address – computer data (have knowledge of practice area.

·  Process repeat prescription request in accordance with practice guidelines (including updating– adding/deleting)

·  Arranging patient transport

·  Liaising with counsellors, hospitals etc.

·  Have working knowledge of telephone/bleep system, during and after hours.

·  Holiday and sickness cover for other receptionists when required

·  Clear rooms after surgeries

·  Ensure building security – have thorough knowledge of doors/windows.

·  Any other tasks allocated by Doctor/Practice Manager

Remuneration

Negotiable depending on experience

The salary agreed will be payable monthly, on the 28th day of the month, by bank transfer, in arrears.

Annual Holiday

5 weeks plus bank holidays pro rata

The holiday year runs from 1st April to 31st March.

Flexible approx. 18 hours per week

Monday - 1pm - 6pm

Wed - 8.15 - 12.30pm

Friday - 8.15 - 5.30pm

Plus Saturday mornings on a rota basis (approx. one Saturday every 5 weeks)
