Job Description
The qualified candidate is responsible for providing on-site support to consumers and their families, as well as on-site supervision of habilitation technicians that work with consumers with intense medical needs.
Role and Responsibilities
·  On-Site Supervisions
o  Provide on-site supervision of habilitation technicians with staff in the consumer’s home or community in accordance to the consumer’s individual support plan.
o  Provide on-site supervision to CNAs at Gateway Education Center at least quarterly.
o  Review CNA applications for re-certification.
o  Complete documentation of all supervisory visits and submit to supervisor within 72 hours of supervision.
o  Make recommendations for staff training and consumer care.
·  Miscellaneous
o  Assess consumer needs for intakes noting medical needs to determine if within the scope of practice for habilitation technicians.
o  Additional responsibilities as outlined by the Enhanced Services Specialist.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
The qualified candidate is a registered nurse that has Knowledge of NC state Regulation/guidelines . Hired candidates will be educated on Agency Policies and Procedures and expected to adhere to those.
Preferred Skills
A. Understanding of Medication Administration
B. Understanding of various medical needs such as feeding tubs, trach care, seizures, suctioning, pulse Oximeter, skin integrity, positioning, breathing treatments, lifting, , chest vest, oxygen monitoring, C-Pap, range of motion, bacolfen pump, etc.
C. Understanding of nursing responsibilities and restrictions (self and habilitation technicians) as outlined by the Board of Nursing and the general statutes regarding consumer care within the confounds of scope of practice.
This person also presents professionally, has strong communication skills, as well as written skills.
