Joanne Stone Wyman, PhD

SOLE - The International Society of Logistics

During her 25+ year career in management consulting, Dr. Wyman has worked with all levels of government in developing strategies, policies, regulations, and programs to solve emergency management, energy, environmental, human capital, and land use issues. After beginning her career with the Federal Aviation Administration, she joined Booz Allen Hamilton, where she created a policy and management practice that encompassed issues ranging from clean air and water to environmental emergency response to land use and energy technologies. Subsequently, she held practice leader and senior management positions with Battelle Memorial Institute, Dynamac, Versar, and several smaller firms. For nearly a decade, she has been providing market research, facilitation, and policy and management support services to the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

A member of SOLE - The International Society of Logistics for the past decade, Dr. Wyman has served on the 501(c)(3) society’s Board of Directors since 2005, as the first Director of the Humanitarian and Disaster Relief (H&DR) Logistics Application Division. In that capacity, she establishes strategic alliances for SOLE in the emergency management community, brings the knowledge and perspectives of logisticians to the national dialogue on readiness and resiliency, and collaborates with other members of the Society to develop H&DR education programs and publications. She also serves on the President’s Advisory Council, Clark University. Dr. Wyman earned her Ph.D. in Politics from Brandeis University (Waltham, MA) and holds B.A. and M.A degrees in International Relations from Clark University (Worcester, MA).
