Jared’s Community Garden

Garden Guidelines

Jared’s Inc (DBA Jared’s Nursery and Garden Center) requires all participants to keep their garden plots clean, neat, chemical and weed free at all times. The benefit for all will be fewer pests, weeds and happy neighbors. If we all work together then the garden will be a success for all.

Requirements for Garden Plots

Each plot will need to be trash, weed and debris free. To have a sustainable garden all plots must be maintained. The plots are 12’ x 12’ with a path on all sides of 1 foot for a total plantable area 10’ x 10’. Trellises, cages, fencing, arbors, or other items approved by Jared’s Nursery management is allowed. There will be 2 or more composting sites available for general use. If more are required please contact Jared’s Nursery management so we may construct or help purchase new compost bins. Individual compost bins will not be allowed.

Fertilizing and weed prevention or maintainencemaintenance must be organic (no chemicals). Any additional bags of topsoil, compost, peat or other organic nutrients may be applied without consent from Jared’s Nursery.

To help maintain the boundriesboundaries all weeds and debris must be removed from the 12’ x 12’ plots. Do not use broken bricks, pavers, pressure treated wood for any borders. Pine or cedar is acceptable or edging can be used.
