Introduction
Purpose
The Cisco Network Asset Collector (CNAC) Installation Guide describes how to install/upgrade the CNAC application on your Windows PC so that you can prepare the system to collect network data for a specific customer.
Scope
This guide is pertinent to an initial installation of the CNAC software under Windows XP, in which you perform the tasks necessary to obtain the CNAC software, identify the customer for whom network data is to be collected, and load the software onto your computer. This installation deposits one icon on your Windows desktop¾CNAC. Additionally, your Windows Programs menu will be updated to include CNAC. At this point, installation is complete.
Audience
The CNAC tool is intended for use by various programs and services offered by Cisco Systems Customer Advocacy and Sales. Installation and deployment of CNAC on a customer network, as well as subsequent analyses of the data, should be performed by the Cisco team responsible for the particular customer.
CNAC Installation Overview
The CNAC installation loads the Cisco Network Asset Collector program (executable) onto your computer. After you complete the CNAC installation, you can access the CNAC tools from the CNAC icons on your Windows desktop or the Windows Programs menu.
