Installing the Exabyte Mammoth and Mammoth LT Tape Drivers
Windows 2000
- Log into your system as an administrator
- Cancel the “Found new hardware” wizard
- Download and install WinZip if it isn’t currently installed. This can be found at http://www.winzip.com
- Open the driver file “EXBMammothWin2K.zip” and extract it to C:\EXBMammoth
- Right click “My Computer” and select Manage
- Select “Device Manager” from the items on the left of the Computer Management window
- You should see “Exabyte EXB-8900 SCSI Sequential Device” under “Other Devices” in the right portion of the screen. Double click this to open the properties screen
- Click the “Reinstall Driver” button
- The “Upgrade Device Driver Wizard” will appear. click “Next” to continue
- Select “Search for a suitable driver for my device” and click “Next”
- Uncheck all boxes under “Optional Search Locations” except for “Specify a location”
- Type “C:\EXBMammoth” in the “Copy manufacturers files from:” prompt and click “OK”
- Click “Next” in the “Driver Files Search Results” window
- Click “Finish”
- Close the “Exabyte EXB-8900 SCSI Sequential Device Properties” window
- Exit Computer Management
Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5 or higher)
- Log into your system as an administrator
- Download and install WinZip if it isn’t currently installed. This can be found at http://www.winzip.com
- Open the driver file “EXBMammothNT4.zip” and extract it to C:\EXBMammoth
- Double click “My Computer” and then “Control Panel”
- Double click “Tape Devices”
- Click the “Drivers” tab
- Click the “Add” button
- Click “Have Disk”
- Type “C:\EXBMammoth” in the “Install From Disk” prompt and click “OK”
- Select the driver containing “Exabyte NT 4.0 SCSI Tape Driver” and click OK
- Click “OK” to close the “Tape Devices” properties window
