Hello All,

The West Point Parent Club of Central Ohio is planning a trip to The Army-Navy Game is in Washington DC this year (not Philly). The game is scheduled for 10 December 2011 and is being played in the Washington Redskins Stadium.

I am arranging a bus and hotel for this year. Please indicate your interest as I want to reserve rooms and contract for the bus. The sooner I get commitments the better choices we will have. I know this is very early but I want to firm things up before the football season kicks off (like that-LOL).

Meals will be on your own - costs and diet as well as upper class cadets may meet up with parents. I am requiring that we are near the Metro/Subway to be able to get to different parts of the DC area.

I see the itinerary as:

Depart Columbus around noon on Friday, 9 Dec 2011

Arrive DC Area that evening.

Game on Saturday, 10 Dec 2011 (Cadets are normally at Stadium a several hours before the game). March On is around Noon and Game is 2 or 3 PM.

Depart for Columbus Sunday, 11 Dec 2011 in the morning for an early afternoon return.

Tickets:

Each family is responsible for purchasing their own tickets and each cadet is allowed to purchase up to 8 tickets. The cadet DOES NOT have to be the one to call in for tickets but you may want to check with them to make sure they were not planning to use their allotment for friends. Our family will not be using all 8 so we can help if the scenario I just described leaves you hanging out.

Our Group Ticket will be $80 each in the Cadet Guest Area. The GROUP NUMBER is #1215 and is good for the Army-Navy Game ONLY and would need to used when ordering tickets. We can have anyone use our Group number if you have met friends and want to sit with them or have them sit with us. These tickets are in the lower rows of the upper deck. Anyone of our friends(your friends) can use this Group number if they want to sit with us.

If you donate over $1,200 a year or buy tickets on a regular basis then you may have built up some points. You will get better seating but will not be seated with the group - this will be you choice. I am not going to tell you that you cannot ride the bus because you have been a great supporter - all ticket holders are welcome. You can buy the lower level tickets at $85 each and upper level of upper deck for $72 each.

Bus:

A 50 Passenger Bus will cost each person about $75 round trip. If we do not fill each seat then the cost rises accordingly.

Hotel:

Hotel cost is about $110-$125/night plus taxes. I will provide more details later. I will not require that you stay at the Group Hotel but times of departure will be strictly followed due to bus company contract. Some of you may want to stay one night with friends or a another place.

I hop I have given you all some good information. The bus is our biggest concern as that will need to be contracted. Hotels selection is going to be based on rate, location, and not a dive of a place.

Please let me know how many will be coming (families are invited). Do you need extra tickets? Do you plan to stay at Group Hotel?

I am also going to invite the Army ROTC Programs and West Point Alumni. Please share this with anyone you may know who is interested in going. Priority will be given to current Cadet Parents.
