WELCOME

We welcome to Mrs. Karen Olsen to SJV and her new fifth grade class! She is off to a great start!

SJV’S FIRST ANNUAL GALA

HUGE thank you to everyone who made the first SJV Gala a great success!!!! We want to thank everyone who attended, all of the volunteers who donated their time to working that evening, all who donated to the silent auction, and all of our sponsors! Also, thank you to Leslie Casciano for the wonderful décor. This could not have been such a success without all of you. It was such a fun evening and the photo booth was a great hit. We have already booked November 4th 2016 for the Second Annual Gala. It will be at The Columns and have similar attire. We walked out with $13,295.24 in profit!!!

GENTLY USED SHOES

Keep sending in your shoes!!! Ask family members and friends to collect as well. We have had so many come in and we are on a great roll! We are very close to approaching the 1,000 mark!

There is a bin located under the stairway in the school before you enter the cafeteria. Our goal is to collect 7,500 pairs of gently used shoes. This is a very easy fundraiser and if we meet our goal we will collect $3,000 to be used to purchase much needed sporting equipment for our athletic teams. This will be ongoing throughout the year. Check with family, friends and anyone else you can think of to help us reach our goal. Sporting shoes may be included!

CASH GIVEAWAY

The date for the Cash Giveaway is March 5th. Mark it on your calendars. Tickets will be coming home shortly. The cost is $10 for the electronics raffle tickets and tickets are $50.00 a piece for the Cash Giveaway. All money will go towards your family commitment.

1-2 GRADE CO-ED

Our smallest athletes currently have a record of 1-1. Good luck Saturday to our youngest Vikings!!!

PARKINGLOT NOTICE

Parents, please make sure that you drive slowly into the parking lot and while in the parking lot. Children can run out at any time. Please also remember that you CANNOT pass buses when their red lights are flashing – even if they are in our parking lot. DO NOT park in the NO PARKING areas! These are fire lanes and must be kept clear in the event of an emergency. I know that we can be in a rush in the morning, or when picking up, but our children’s safety is of the upmost concern! The Orchard Park Police have been notified by the bus companies that cars are passing them, and they can ticket on our property. Please keep this in mind.

NOTE

If any teachers, parents or coaches would like to add any information in this memo at any time please email or Mrs. Bestpitch at

Please be sure to send the information by Monday to make sure it makes it in the memo for Wednesday.
